Calabar is a port city in southern Nigeria near the Cameroon boarder. The capital of Cross River State, it sits on a hill near Calabar river and the Cross River delta. British colonial architectures fills the city's older sections including Henshaw town, Duke town and the waterfront area.
Calabar is regarded by many as the most cleanest and most beautiful town in Nigeria. A tourist haven, it is full of attractions. The people are known to be very friendly and open to visitors.
Tour activities kicks off at Duke town which happens to be one of the oldest areas in the state. It is at the edge of the Calabar River and is quiet and full of history. In this tour, you will see the colonial style houses, and the tidy streets. The slave trade museum will take you back to the slave trade era, you will see artifacts from the slave trade era as well as sculptured representations.
