Tour from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls.
Introduction:
The 9 day overland tour from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls includes highlights such as the Okavango Delta, safaris in Chobe National Park, and of course; the world-famous Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
The tour conveniently starts in Johannesburg, South Africa, and quickly crosses the border into Botswana. We travel through parts of the Kalahari to Maun - the gateway of the Okavango Delta. After the Delta excursion, we continue our journey due North, to Chobe for some safari experiences on land and on the water.
The group tour ends at one of the 7 wonders of the world - the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
• This tour is offered in two travel styles:
1. Camping: Passengers can spend the night in comfortable two-man dome tents, with built in mosquito nets and of course a mattress… And a couple of nights are upgraded to budget rooms.
2. Accommodated (hotels/lodges): Passengers can spend the night in comfortable twin-rooms or permanent safari tents, mostly with en-suite bathrooms.

• Day to day description l Johannesburg to Victoria Falls Tour
When you book the optional activity package, the tour will run as follows:
Day 1 - Johannesburg to Kalahari Gateway
We depart for our Johannesburg to Victoria Falls tour early in the morning as we travel through the North-West Province to the Botswana border. After completing border formalities we continue on the Trans-Kalahari highway to our overnight stop in the small village of Kang, the gateway to the Kalahari.
Day 2 - Kalahari Gateway to Kalahari
After breakfast we venture deeper into the Central Kalahari and our camp in the Ghanzi district, here we will spend time getting to know the fascinating San people. After lunch we will join our San guides for a guided walk that will introduce us to the many secrets of their survival in the Kalahari Desert. The nomadic San are hunter-gatherers that have passed down a rich knowledge of the plants and animals that play such an important part in their lifestyle. This evening we will get a first-hand experience of the San culture, well known for its rich traditions of song, dance and story-telling.

Day 3 - Kalahari to Maun
we bid farewell to the San and make our way to Maun, gateway to the world famous Okavango Delta. Your guides will brief you this evening on what you will need for the upcoming Delta Excursions.
Please note: baggage restrictions apply for transfers to our camps, so a small daypack or similar is advisable.
Day 4 - Okavango Delta
This morning we embark on our *excursion of the Okavango Delta, one of Africa’s great wilderness areas. This unique and unusual ecosystem sees the annual flood waters of the Okavango River fan out into the sands of the Kalahari Basin. The seasonality of the flood waters lends the Delta its ever changing character, while water levels may fluctuate the tranquillity of this wilderness area remains constant.
Activity package: *Okavango Delta excursion - Accommodated clients fly in with a small airplane and camping clients drive in with a 4x4 truck.
Day 5 - Okavango Delta
A full day is set aside to enjoy the activities on offer in the Delta, while the program of activities is flexible to accommodate the seasonal changes in water levels, you will have the opportunity to enjoy amongst other activities traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) rides and natures walks. The Okavango Delta is not only a natural wonder, but represents one of the last unspoiled wilderness areas in the world today.
Day 6 - Okavango Delta to Caprivi Region
Leaving the Delta behind us this morning we make our way across the border into Namibia and travel to the Caprivi Strip, part of our day is spent travelling through wildlife areas and there is always the possibility of a lucky sighting. We overnight a short distance from the Botswana border as we prepare for an exciting day of activities in the Chobe National Park tomorrow.
Day 7 - Caprivi Region to Kasane
We enjoy our breakfast in Namibia this morning before returning to Botswana and our camp on the banks of the Chobe River. Lunch will be served from the truck and the afternoon is set aside for a safari to explore the Chobe National Park. We begin our safari in 4×4 vehicles, which allows us an up close and personal experience with the many elephants that frequent the Chobe riverfront in the afternoons. The day ends with a leisurely Boat Cruise and a meal served around the campfire.

Day 8 - Kasane - Victoria Falls
With the memories of our wildlife encounters firmly etched in our minds, we cross the border to Zimbabwe this morning and travel the short distance to the town of Victoria Falls. Today we visit the spectacular Victoria Falls, also known by the local name of “Mosi-oaTunya” (the smoke that thunders). While much of today is dedicated to viewing the mighty Zambezi River as it drops into the Batoka Gorge below, the bustling adventure town of Victoria Falls also offers a range of optional activities for those wanting a dose of adrenaline in the afternoon. For the more relaxed traveller there are craft markets to explore and a delicious high tea is on offer at the Victoria Falls Hotel. Tonight we enjoy an optional dinner out
